Ready For The First Cold Front

As I stand at my kitchen sink and look out the window to our back yard, I see this stack of wood waiting for the fireplace. I think it's interesting the way the wood is stacked at the bottom. It wasn't planned - just happened. All summer long I thought I would plant ivies in the holes, but our deer family had better ideas. I finally gave up and let them enjoy "ivy salad' for lunch.
