Every year, Mama Doe returns to birth her fawn in the back half acre of our yard. It's fenced in on 3 sides so I guess she feels safe and knows the baby won't be bothered. This has been going on for about 5 years now. When she returns in the Spring, she always has a younger doe with her. We assume it's her fawn from the year before, but can't be sure. This year, the two ladies each had a fawn and they take turns baby sitting. They even nurse one anothers baby. They are a delight to watch.
