And the Rains Came down

I took these photos this afternoon after the water had already receded a great deal. The water can get up so high here so quickly, and run off just as quickly. People have a difficult time understanding the dangers of the rivers and creeks when the rains are falling and many disregard the barriers and are washed away. In the 1st photo, the Guadalupe River is out of its banks and into the adjacent field. The tree line shows where the bank normally is. In the second photo, the debris in the trees shows just how high the water was. And these trees are not usually under water!
